Yash Dhull’s father proud & happy on Team India’s U-19 World Cup triumph

India U-19 skipper Yash Dhull‘s father Vijay Dhull has expressed his happiness after the Boys in Blue won the Under 19 World Cup.

India won the U19 World Cup for the fifth time on Saturday, defeating England in the final at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.

“Our family and the whole country is happy with the team’s performance in the finals. Being a father, I am really proud that my son and the entire team performed really well. It feels so great that we have been getting many congratulatory messages,” Vijay Dhull told ANI.

“Further, he’ll play domestic cricket. We haven’t plan anything special for his welcome, as we are simple people and Yash also believes in simplicity. Currently, we don’t know when he’s returning yet,” he added.

Meanwhile, Yash Dhull’s mother Neelam Dhull thanked the coaches and the people for their support to the team.

“I am thankful to all the coaches for their hardwork and the entire country, who gave blessings to the players,” said Neelam Dhull.

In the summit clash, the Yash Dhull-led squad defeated the Three Lions by four wickets. India had won the U19 World Cup four times previously, in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018.

India got off to the worst possible start in their chase for 190 runs as Joshua Boyden dismissed Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0) on the third ball of the innings. Harnoor Singh and Shaik Rasheed then joined forces at the crease and put on a second-wicket stand of 49 runs.

After that, Raj Bawa (35) and Nishant Sindhu (50*) ensured that India did not lose any more wickets in a row. In the end, India won the U19 World Cup for the fifth time with a four-wicket victory.
