Women’s Ashes 2022: Lanning, McGrath star as Australia defeat England in 1st T20I;
Women’s Ashes 2022: Australia defeated England by nine wickets in the opening T20I of the three-match series at the Adelaide Oval, thanks to Tahlia McGrath’s all-round effort and Meg Lanning’s spirited exhibition with the bat.
Australia has taken an early lead in the ongoing Women’s Ashes, and the second T20I will now be played at the same site on Saturday. McGrath first grabbed three wickets with the ball, then followed that up with a 91-run innings. In pursuit of 170, Australia got off to a good start, as openers Meg Lanning and Alyssa Healy put on 26 runs in four overs. However, Sophie Ecclestone cut short this partnership when she dismissed Healy (7), bringing Tahlia McGrath to the crease.
