Virat Kohli leads cricketing fraternity in paying rich tributes to Lata Mangeshkar
Former Indian Cricket team Captain Virat Kohli on Sunday led the cricketing fraternity in paying rich tributes to the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Lata Mangeshkar, the legendary singer, died on Sunday at the age of 92. Therefore, on January 8, Mangeshkar was hospitalised to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia. Despite having recovered from COVID, the singer was placed on ventilator support on Saturday as her condition worsened.
Kohli said that Mangeshkar’s melodious voice touched millions of people around the world.
“Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Lata ji. Her melodious songs touched millions of people around the world. Moreover, Thank you for all the music and the memories. My deepest condolences to the family & the loved ones,” tweeted Kohli.

Former Indian cricket team opening batsman Virender Sehwag also extended ‘heartfelt condolences’ to Lata Mangeshkar’s family.
