SA vs IND: Rishabh Pant Achieves Massive feat, Joins MS Dhoni’s Elite List – Rishabh Pant, India’s wicketkeeper, joins former captain MS Dhoni on an exclusive chart during the current second Test among India and South Africa in Johannesburg on Tuesday. Pant is the fourth Indian wicketkeeper to have recorded 100 catches in Test cricket. To accomplish the feat, he caught Lungi Ngidi off Shardul Thakur’s delivery. Only Dhoni (256), Syed Kirmani (160), and Kiran More (110) have more catches for India as a wicketkeeper than Pant (100).
Later during first Test in Centurion, Pant became the fastest wicketkeeper in Test cricket history to reach 100 dismissals, surpassing Dhoni on the record. Unlike Dhoni, who took 36 games to reach the milestone, Pant did so in his 26th Test.
