SA vs IND: Quinton de Kock and his wife Sasha blessed with a baby girl – Quinton de Kock, a South African wicketkeeper batsman, and his wife welcomed a baby daughter on Thursday, the 29-year-old posted on his Instagram account to confirm.

Quinton de Kock announced on his official Instagram account on Thursday that he and his wife have given birth to a daughter, whom they have named Kiara.

De Kock had previously declared his retirement from Test cricket in order to devote more time to his family and the impending birth of his child. He will continue to play white-ball cricket for South Africa as well as franchise leagues all over the world.

Quinton de Kock has announced that he will no longer play Test cricket

De Kock unexpectedly declared after the first Test that he will retire from Test cricket at the age of 29. Everyone was surprised by the decision, but the wicket-keeper batsman stated he deliberated for a long time before making it.

“This has not been an easy decision for me to make. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about my future and what has to take precedence in my life now that Sasha and I are going to welcome our first child into the world and plan to expand our family.”

“My family is everything to me, and I want to have the time and space to be with them during this new and exciting chapter of our life,” de Kock had said when he announced his retirement.

Quinton de Kock played 54 Tests for South Africa before retiring, scoring 3300 runs at an average of 38.8. He batted for six century and 22 half-centuries in total, with an overall strike rate of 70.9.
