SA vs IND: ‘Leading India was a great honour, team will learn from mistakes’ says KL Rahul;

SA vs IND: India’s stand-in captain for the ODI series in South Africa, KL Rahul said that captaining the Men in Blue was an honour.

The Proteas completed a hat-trick of victories with a four-run triumph in Cape Town on Sunday, completing a 3-0 series whitewash against India despite a late cameo from Deepak Chahar.

“Difficult journeys help you to improve and grow stronger. The results might not have gone our way, but we will learn from the mistakes. Leading the country was a great honour, a proud moment which cannot be described in words,” KL Rahul tweeted.

“The work does not stop as we focus on getting better and never giving up. Thank you for your support,” he added.

Virat Kohli’s (65), Shikhar Dhawan’s (61), and Deepak Chahar’s (54) half-centuries were in vain as India lost the third and final One-Day International to South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town. The Proteas now have a 3-0 lead in the ODI series.

India had also lost the Test series 1-2 to South Africa. Virat Kohli decided to resign down as Test captain after that.

India will play the West Indies in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is) next.
