SA vs IND: Kohli overtakes Tendulkar to become India’s highest run-getter in away ODIs;

SA vs IND: Virat Kohli became India’s all-time leading run scorer in away ODIs on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old pulled off the feat in the opening ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. It is now underway at Boland Park in Paarl. Kohli passed Sachin Tendulkar, who has 5,065 runs in away ODIs for India. After hitting nine runs in the ongoing ODI.

As South Africa reached 296/4 earlier, Rassie van der Dussen (129*). And Temba Bavuma (110) were the bright lights with the bat. Bavuma and van der Dussen put on a 204-run fourth-wicket stand, the second-highest by a South African duo in one-day internationals against India.

Kohli stepped down as T20I captain last year and was later ousted as ODI captain after the selectors decided to have one leader for both white-ball forms.
