SA vs IND 3rd ODI: ‘Pitch wasn’t flat at all’ says Quinton de Kock;

SA vs IND 3rd ODI: South Africa wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock who led his team to victory in the three-match ODI series against India, said the pitch was challenging to play as the pitch was not flat.

Virat Kohli’s (65), Shikhar Dhawan’s (61), and Deepak Chahar’s (54) half-centuries were in vain as India lost the third and final One-Day International to South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town. The Proteas now have a 3-0 lead in the ODI series.

“Wasn’t flat at all (the pitch). Was a wicket where you’re never quite in. Came back, had a week of training in Paarl. First game – just trying to find some rhythm. Was still trying to find my feet and then in the second ODI found my rhythm. Get home now for some daddy duties,” said de Kock in a post-match presentation.

De Kock and Rassie van der Dussen had earlier contributed 124 and 52 runs to South Africa’s 287-run total. Prasidh Krishna returned with three wickets for India.

India had also lost the Test series 1-2 to South Africa. Virat Kohli opted to resign down as Test captain after that.
