India’s second innings got off to a shaky start when stand-in skipper KL Rahul was out in the eighth over. India’s woes were exacerbated when Mayank Agarwal offered no shot and was caught LBW in the 12th over. Pujara (35*) and Rahane (11) then ensured that India did not suffer any further setbacks, as the visitors finished the day at 85/2 with a 58-run lead. Shardul’s triple strike in the first session had given India in command, with South Africa trailing by 100 runs. Shardul created havoc and destroyed South Africa’s batting order after lunch, allowing the visitors to seize control of the contest.
