PSL 2022: David Willey, Shan Masood guide Multan Sultans to victory against Quetta Gladiators;
PSL 2022: David Willey‘s last-over wickets and Shan Masood‘s 88-run effort sealed the deal for the Multan Sultans against the Quetta Gladiators.
The Gladiators were on the verge of winning in the last over, needing eight runs from six balls, but Willey refused to let them beat the Sultans at the National Stadium.
Willey dismissed two players — Sohail Tanvir (13) and Naseem Shah (1) — to take Multan Sultans to a 6-run victory, as Gladiators were all-out at 168, with a ball remaining.
The top of the order was sent to the pavilion early, with Ahsan Ali scoring 24 and Will Smeed scoring only three runs. Ben Duckett remained firm and scored 47, but no one else was able to match his performance.
Khushdil Shah, Willey, and Imran Tahir each took three wickets as they went through the Gladiators’ batting lineup, with James Faulkner being run out in the 19th over.
The Sultans are still on top of the points table with six points after winning all three of their matches so far.
