IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore full squad after Player Auction

IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore was under pressure to recruit a new skipper for the team when they entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. On Day 1, they lost the bidding war for Shreyas Iyer to Kolkata Knight Riders, but a few minutes later, they secured former South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis, who spent a decade with rivals Chennai Super Kings. Faf was RCB’s first auction buy, and he gives the side with a strong leadership option.

Virat Kohli has given up the RCB captaincy last year, but he remains a key member of the franchise. He was retained for Rs 15 Crore along with Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell (Rs 11 Crore) and Indian paceman Mohammed Siraj (Rs 7 Crore).

For IPL 2022, there is no AB de Villiers for RCB. However, the South African great has retired from the game. And it is a big void for the franchise.

The paceman Harshal Patel is back with RCB. Harshal won the Purple Cap with RCB in IPL 2021. However, after taking 32 wickets at an impressive strike rate of 10.56 and average of 14.34.
