IPL 2022: New Lucknow franchise named as ‘Lucknow Super Giants’;
IPL 2022: Indian Premier League’s new Lucknow-based franchise has announced their team name as Lucknow Super Giants.
For the IPL 2022, Lucknow drafted KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs 9.2 crore), and Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore). The captaincy will be don by KL Rahul. Andy Flower has already been selected as the coach of the Lucknow franchise. While Gautam Gambhir, a former India batsman, will act as the franchise’s mentor.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has given formal approval to the IPL’s two new teams. Sanjiv Goenka RPSG Group for the Lucknow franchise. CVC Capital for the Ahmedabad franchise (BCCI). After that, a meeting of the IPL Governing Council, the formal approval issued.

Therefore, Indian Premier League (IPL) player registration period ended on January 20. However, with 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 international) registered for the IPL 2022 player auction.
During the two-day mega auction, ten franchises will bid for some of the best cricketers in the globe. Moreover, 270 capped players, 903 uncapped players, and 41 associate players are on the roster.
