IPL 2022: Look forward to share dressing room with you, says Jos Buttler after RR pick Ashwin

IPL 2022: England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has welcomed Ravichandran Ashwin into the Rajasthan Royals squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season.

On the first day of the mega auction on Saturday, Rajasthan Royals purchased Ashwin for Rs 5 crore.

In a video posted by Rajasthan Royals on Twitter, Buttler said: “Hey Ash, Jos here. Don’t worry I am inside the crease, cannot wait to see you in pink for the Royals. Look forward to sharing the dressing room with you.”

In IPL 2019, Ashwin and Buttler were involved in a controversy as the former then leading Punjab Kings had dismissed Buttler through a ‘Mankad’. Despite the fact that this type of dismissal is fully legal, many people believe it goes against the spirit of the game.

Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chahar were among the top picks on Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. Mumbai Indians paid Rs 15.25 crore for Kishan, while Chennai Super Kings paid Rs 14 crore for Chahar.

Iyer purchased for Rs 12.25 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders. While Avesh Khan purchased for Rs 10 crore by Lucknow Super Giants, making him the most expensive uncapped player.

Delhi Capitals bought Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur for Rs 10.75 crore. While Gujarat Giants purchased New Zealand bowler Lockie Ferguson for Rs 10 crore. Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 10 crore for Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna.

West Indies wicketkeeper batter Nicholas Pooran sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 10.75 crore. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs 10.75 crore.
