India vs West Indies white-ball series likely to be played in Kolkata, Ahmedabad;
India vs West Indies: The upcoming white-ball series between India and the West Indies will begin from February 6. It is likely to be played in two venues i.e. Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
However, due to the COVID-19 situation in the country, this is a possibility. The BCCI’s Tours, Fixtures, and Technical Committee made this proposal. As a result the board will now make the final decision.
Sources told ANI that the Tours and Fixtures Committee met on Wednesday. And deliberated on how to move forward with the series.
“The BCCI’s Tours, Fixtures and Technical Committee had a meeting today. And they discussed the COVID-19 situation in the country. And how the West Indies series should possibly go ahead. They have up come up with a plan of playing three ODIs. And three T20Is across two venues — Kolkata and Ahmedabad,” the source said.
“The proposal is to have three ODIs at one venue and the T20Is at another. Moreover, the committee has sent the proposal to the BCCI. Moreover, the final decision will be taken by the board,” it added.
India and the West Indies will face off in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs). And three Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is) beginning February 6.
But, ODIs were supposed to be played in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Kolkata. While T20Is were supposed to be held in Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvananthapuram.
