Harbhajan Singh tested positive for COVID-19;

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has tested positive for COVID-19.

Harbhajan on Friday said that he has quarantined himself at home and is taking all the necessary precautions.

“I’ve tested positive for COVID with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and taking all the necessary precautions. I would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest. Please be safe and take care,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Harbhajan declared his retirement from all forms of cricket in December of last year. For the Men in Blue, the 41-year-old has appeared in 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is. He has 294 wickets in limited-overs cricket.

In 2015, he played his final red-ball match against Sri Lanka, while his final one-day international came against South Africa in the same year. In the 2016 Asia Cup, he last played for India in a T20I against UAE. Since then, he hasn’t been selected for the Indian team.

He retired with 417 wickets at an average of 32.46 in 103 Tests. However, He is also the first Indian to take a Test hat-trick, having won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the World Cup in 2011.

In total, the Jalandhar-born cricketer has appeared in 367 international matches, taking 711 international wickets and scoring 3,569 runs.
